Almost Home Rescue is a 501C3 non profit animal rescue based in Rhode Island.  The rescue is made up solely of volunteers who give up their time freely for the love of dogs.  We like to think of ourselves as an equal opportunity rescue and are committed to rescuing and rehoming dogs regardless of breed or age. 

We are partial to the misunderstood breeds of this earth like the rottweiler, pit bull, Presa Canario, Mastiff etc.  We are attempting to help stop good dogs from being euthanized for the wrong reasons. 

We are not trying to save the world but we will give a dog a fair chance regardless of what they look like if he/she is of adoptable behavior.  What does this mean?  It means that all of our dogs have no human bite history and live in foster homes for at least 3 weeks preparing for their new home.  We will not tolerate human aggression!  We do think that a Staffordshire Terrier, a Rottweiler, a Malamute or a Presa Canario can be an excellent companion in the appropriate home!
